Summary: Wings of Change flew staff members of NMWA and media representatives over several areas selected as suitable for inclusion in the existing wilderness preservation system in northern New Mexico. The largest of these areas, approximately 100,000 acres adjacent to the Pecos Wilderness Area, is being studied at this time. Edward Sullivan, the Executive Director of the NMWA remarked: "The reporters whom we took on those flights all called me to express their thanks. They wrote great stories and included photos taken during the flights. This puts us one step closer to protecting these special areas as wilderness. Wings of Change turned what could have been a media bust into a media blitz! Your organization serves a very important role by providing conservation groups like ours with an incredibly useful and necessary tool."
